- Go to Device Manager
- Expand “IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers”
- if you have like “Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller” or “Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller” then just upgrade your hardware, it should be fine, if not go to step 4
- right click non standard controller chos Properties > Driver > Update Driver
not the “ATA Channel 0, ” Primary IDE Channel” - choose “Browse your computer > Let Me Pick” and select default “Standard” driver :
- SATA : Stamdard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller
- IDE : Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller
- OK. dont reboot, just shutdown and upgrade the hardware.
